In the second stage of construction, we hand-lay the
outer laminates and core into the mould on top of the new gel coat.
The outer laminate is usually a superfine layer of fibre-glass and then
the main layer of either Kevlar (HKCC & HKC boats) or carbon fibre
(HC).
